Different people have different bodybuilding approaches. Some prefer to go to gym and some try to do exercise at home. In this article, I will try to establish that which one is better for you by comparing both the approaches.
First of all, you should be clear in your mind that which form of bodybuilding are you looking for. Are you trying to become a professional bodybuilder? Or just trying to get in good shape? If you are trying to become a good bodybuilder with big muscles, then you must join a professional gym because you cannot get your dream body at home. However, if your aim is to get good shape and have nice physique without building too much of the muscles, then home gym can be a good option.
Second thing to consider is your schedule. If you are too busy to get time for gym, then perhaps you can do it at home easily. But again, it should be at home only if you are not looking to become a professional. Otherwise, you must take time out to go to gym. Most of the people are too busy in their daily routines that they do not have time to go to gym. Usually they get back home at night from their jobs when almost no time is available for going gym. So gym at home with little equipment like dumbbells, bench etc. is good for them.
Third thing to see is your pocket of course. If you can afford to pay heavy gym fees and can spend on costly supplements and food, then you can consider joining a gym. Otherwise, home gym would be good for you.
If we consider merits and demerits of both, we will find that in gym, you can get the benefit of having modern exercise machines, good trainers available to guide you, professional environment, good food shop etc. However, you need to spare time to get this all. In case of home gym, you can do it at home without having to go to any gym but demerits are that you find limited equipment, no trainer and non-availability of professional environment as well. Besides, you can easily get distracted at home during your exercise due to a number of reasons. So my advice would be that if you have time available, do join a professional gym rather than doing it at home.
