Important facts about bodybuilding

Bodybuilding is increasing day by day and not only males but females are also entering into it. Since this exercise is on the increase, it is important to know some important facts about it. Below are some important facts about bodybuilding:

1- Women and men have different body structures and therefore some of the exercises are different. Muscle growth depends on a large extent to the production of human growth hormone and this amount of production is different in male and female bodies. Females produce much smaller amount of this hormone and therefore the fear by females that their bodies may become bulky like men bodies is not correct. Moreover, women may lift lighter weights to avoid bulky muscles.

2- Muscles do not build during the exercise workouts. The fact is that they grow during rest and sleep. During exercise your activity actually does a wear and tear of your muscles. It is actually the sleep and rest time when your body gets a chance to repair the muscles and let them grow big. So take lots of rest during your exercise period. Daily recommended sleep is 7-8 hours a day.

3- Body warm up is necessary before you go for exercise because warm up prevents your body to undergo any possible injury and prepares it for workouts. During your warm-up, your brain actually tells your body to prepare itself for growth. So it is important to warm your body up before starting your exercise.

4- Your body needs energy to do proper and extensive workouts and therefore you may take pre supplements around 45 minutes before your exercise. Similarly, body also requires food right after the exercise to repair and heal it. You may consider taking post supplements to take care of this aspect.

5- Over exercising is not going to help you in any way to gain muscles quickly. Fact of the matter is that, over exercising reduces the ability of the tissues to repair themselves and hence should be avoided. Similarly, over weightlifting is not helpful either.

6- You need high protein food, carbohydrates and good quality fats as nutritious food for your body. This food should be taken in smaller amounts but in larger number of times (say 5-6 times) a day so that our metabolism rate remains most efficient and effective for muscle growth.
